What to Expect at First United Methodist of Panama City (FUMC-PC)
Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Panama City! Our church as well as our city are still in recovery from Hurricane Michael. We are functioning out of just one building of our three building campus. Nevertheless we have some of the best people who create a loving and caring atmosphere that help us carry out our mission for Christ. Our mission statement is “sharing Christ’s love with each other and the world.
We currently have eight services on Sunday morning. We are limiting participants in the services to meet safely during these times of Covid-19. We have three traditional services at 8:15am, 9:30am and 10:45am. These services meet in our Community Life Center. We also have three contemporary services that meet at 8:15am, 9:30am, and 10:45am. These services meet in our Trinity Center. We also have two chapel services, one at 8:15am and one at 10:45am. These services meet in our chapel and our designed for those over 65 years old/or those with any health concerns that want to keep their interactions in a smaller group. If you are in one of those categories you can choose to go to the traditional or contemporary service but the chapel option is open for you.
Sunday Morning’s with Children
Our nursery is not open at this time. We are having discussion about how to bring it back safely and just want to take time to make the best decision for everyone’s health and safety. We love seeing the children in service and will not be bothered by the sweet noises they make!
We have provided children’s church for children age 3 to 2nd grade, at this time however, due to Covid-19, we are asking that children stay with their families in the service. It is hard to keep children social distant when we gather them together. For the safety of all, and to abide by guidelines set by our state, we ask for them to stay in the chairs with you on Sunday morning. If you have any questions about Children’s Church you can contact our Children’s Director, Alison at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are many different parking areas around the church. We have parking available off of Business 98 in front of our Community Life Center. There is also some parking available on the other side of the Community Life Center off of E. 4th Street. There is a parking lot across from the church off of E. 4th Street, if you turn on S. Palo Alto you can turn into the parking lot. Lastly, we have parking in front of our Trinity Center which is located on the east side of the campus off of Bontia Ave.
You can get connected through our many different ministries. We have ministries for Adults, Young Professionals, Students and Children. We also have opportunities for small groups during Sunday School. If you or your children are interested in sports and exercise you can check out our Community Life Center page to see what is happening there.
